Default V6 4l60 to 5.3 help please

So I bought a V6 4l60 a year ago to back a 5.3 ( both 2001 ). Can I run the
V6 torque converter with the flex plate it's has both holes. Will I need to
shim it ???? I bought the trans for mock up and j-yard said it would work.
Now I'm ready to rebuilt it, but need to know if I can get the torque converter bolted up.

thanks bob

What is the gap between the converter and flex plate? You must have at least a 1/8 gap between when it is bolted to the engine. The max you want is 3/16".

You will need a flexplate spacer so that the converter pilot is properly seated at the end of the crank. This thread covers some details:

I list the necessary part numbers in post #11.

While not trivial, I would recommend removing/replacing the valve body separator plate and drilling it at least according to the Transgo separator plate "stock" specs for a V8. If you do that, the "Vette Servo" would be a good ($15) addition.
