Default 4L60E replacement.

Does anybody know where a perfect match up to a 2002 Trans Am WS6? It's the LS1 block, I've been reading up about it, seems like alot of you guys would rather go with a brand new 4l60E transmission, than a rebuilt ones since they seem to go out much quicker.

I got talking to somebody from Summit, through their live chat, and they told me that their most popular transmission is this. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/tci-371016/overview/

Anybody know one thats a little cheaper? Maybe one that you've personally installed trouble free?

check out this section https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic-transmission-13/

I believe (from what I've read) the more popular choice is to swap out to a 4l80 trans as a stock one of them is often built stronger then a mildly built 4l60e and can be gotten in the used market and can be built stronger then even the best 4l60e.

the basic trick is to make sure it's off of a 1996-2005 vehicle as those are the ones with the swappable bell housings, just check out the section I linked above, you will find your answers there.

I'm not really looking for an aftermarket transmission, or even an upgraded from the stock one (referring the the 4L80E) I'm looking for an exact match. (No extra fabrication, no different wiring, nothing, just strictly a plug and play)
