Default H/C plus 150 shot w/3.73's - Which TC?

I want to do this once and do it right. Heads, 228 cam and 3.73's

Which convertor? I want to run the largest TC I can run N/A and still be able to hit the 150 shot.

I was originally going with the SS4000 but Im not sure if it with be to large with the shot in the 1/4mi.

Any input will be appreciated. Thanks

which heads are you planning on going with?
you can go with the TC you were thinkin SS4000, and have the car tuned for N/A. then hit the N2O once it locks up. i think that sounds right

That was what I was planning to do, however. Im not sure if ill be hitting the limiter by the 1/4 with the 150 shot and 3.73's. I will more than likley only ever run a 26" tire so I think I have a shot at it, but I need some feedback of someone who knows for sure. Oh, and on the heads...Im holding off for the AFR heads, but if they dont hold up to my expectations ill get some 6.0 absolute speed heads. Thanks.

I would call Yank & TCI and see what they recommend for you. But I would say something around 3800-4000 stall, no more, no less

What trap speed do you expect on the juice and where will you have your rev limiter set?

Why would you have the rev limiter at 6700? You defentially dont want to hit this while spraying and therefore should bump the rev limiter up to about 7000-7200.
Have your shift points adjusted to the HP you make on the dyno. Good chance you will be shifting at 6700RPM's or so.
I had a versimilar setup and shifted at 6650. I traped between 126-130 depending on the weather and never had a problem running out of gear at the end of the track. I believe I was 6200-6400 RPM range.
I ran 6.7 as a best in the 1/8th mile with home ported heads and a 226/228 569/571 on a 114LSA cam. Best 1/4 mile was a 10.83(6.97 1/8th) before my new converter. I ran it only once with the new verter on the 1/4 and set a new best 1/8 but blew up right after the 1/8th and ran a 11.01@ 107.
Again this was spraying a 150.
In compairson I ran consistent 11.7's all motor and on motor I only dynoed 362 WRHP.
I am at full weight+. The converter was a Yank SS3600. I would suggest this or the 3800. I did spray right out of the whole and on my only nitrous pass I waited about a half of a sec before turning on the notrous. I had a 1.52 60 ft.
On all motor I was pulling 1.545's as a best and 1.55 - 1.58's all day long.
Just shows you that you can use something smaller than a 4000 and still get nice results and still have a better juice verter.

My bad. I meant I would be SHIFTING at 6700. Duoh. How far above my shift point should the limiter be?

Where you running 3.73's with that SS3600?

Whould the SS3800, or another version of the 3800 be better? thanks.

130 MPH, 26.2" tires, and a 6700 rev limit will work just fine. It's just about perfect in fact. I think you'de be on the right track with an SS4000E.

Why would you pick a SS4000 over the 3800? Is it because the shift extentions look closer to a true 3800? Just curious. The SS4000 was what I had planned on from the beginning. Heh, go figure.
