Default Making base to mount shifter M6 to TH400 swap

So I have this big hole in my tunnel I need to close up and mount a shifter to.

Is 1/8" aluminum plate strong enough? I was going to get a 8.5" x 8.5" square, trim some edges, and bolt to the tunnel using existing self tapping screws and holes, some RTV to seal it. Then mount the B&M ripper to that.

Sound good?

Or does someone make something I can just buy?

Nobody makes anything like that. That's exactly what most people do though.. It will be enough to hold the shifter and not flex.

I cut the tunnel out of an auto car and welded it in. You can go to a you pull it yard and cut the piece you need and use screws to bolt it down.

Thanks guys.
I'm terrible at fabricating anything. I'll give it my best
