And now that I've got some miles on it, an update on how it drives with the upgrades I listed in the first post, minus the Sonnax 2nd and 4th until I get them installed, but with a corvette servo currently.
First off, everybody wants to know about the shifts, are they too soft, too firm, etc. I notice that when I drive around town, the shifts are still fairly light. A little firmer than stock. But when I put some lead down the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts feel like a manual car, with their level of firmness. Nothing harsh, just lets you feel the shift. Don't really notice the 3-4 shift other than seeing the rpm's fluctuate briefly. I can feel it a little if I'm giving it a lot of gas.
I notice a big bump in how fast my truck accelerates and also that the acceleration is faster at lower rpm's than previously, which I would hazard a guess has something to do with more efficient energy transfer from the engine to the rear wheels via the upgraded transmission and torque converter. That's just my inexperienced guess.
I also notice that when I take my foot off the gas, the speed doesn't drop nearly as fast at it did previously when I would coast to say, a red stop light.
Supposedly things like turbulator steels increase gas mileage. I imagine all the other stuff helps too to make the transmission more efficient. But I can't imagine an increase big enough to really be noticeable. I haven't driven anywhere near enough to say though, so we'll see.
All in all, I'm very happy with my transmission rebuild and torque converter. It just drives really, really well. And I won a bet I had with one of my friends. He bet that my rebuild wouldn't be successful and that I was crazy. And since he lost, he has to throw a "transmission rebuild party" in my honor. There will be cigars and much Bordeaux.

Hi mrvedit...wondering if you meant the forward sprag or forward spring in post #23. I'm in the middle of a 4l60e rebuild and wondered if I might have missed something. I've installed the sprag properly, but I'm unsure about a spring. Jake

He's talking about the sprag. They can go in two ways but only the proper direction will give you a working transmission.
Glad my rebuild thread is helping you with your rebuild.
