Pros and cons of swap What's the pros and cons of swapping from a t56 to a 4l60 or 65 or a th400 in terms of cost and how hard? Also the pros and cons of a 4l Vs a th400 on the strip
On the strip, electronic controls tend to be more consistent vs manual shifting.
T56 will be lighter than listed autos, only the glide is lighter but might be the same depending on certain parts.

Manual valve bodies retain some M6 fun with out the issues. Like having ***** but being fixed.
The 4l60 will be the faster, more accurate shifter, but there's a reason the fast guys go glide or TH400.

I'm going thru the process to go from a m6 to a4 right now... either way is about the same amount of work, swapping pedals, shifter, harness, cross member, driveshaft, pcm reflash... etc. Cost will come down to what you want to spend on a trans, hp target and whether you want it highway friendly. I have both a new th400 and 4l60e. Ones good to 1500 hp and the other is only 650 but cost me the same. I'm leaning to the 400 myself.
