trans issue after swap
I just swapped out my 98 PCM for a 2001. After buttoning it up, the trans acts like it is "slipping". If I put it in D or 3, it will barely move. I checked the scan and it says it is in 1st.
I rechecked all of my wires, and they are exactly where the pin-out shows they should be.
Any ideas of what to check next?

Can you put the 98 PCM back in to confirm if it is the trans or the 2001 PCM? I don’t understand why the pin locations would have needed to be changed from one PCM to the next or why the PCM change.

Mr Bond: The '98 and '99+ PCM have completely different pinouts.
The OP has also posted in the PCM tuning section trying to figure out all the problems the PCM swap has caused.
OP: This sounds like the trans is starting in 3rd gear due to code problems which may have nothing to do with the trans. If you disconnect the trans connector it will also start in 3rd gear and max line pressure.
Therefore, I think we should continue debugging this in the PCM Tuning section.

Thanks MrV
I posted here because I was told the trans is in limp mode and I wanted to know what could cause it. Some theories are, fuse blown, or a security issue.
Hate to even think about it, but may have to put the 98 back in.
