Default Compatability Issue 4L80e

Im needing to get a 4l80e for my 5.3 Gen III 2001/1968 C10 I had read something about in 2004 the computers changed and I need to stay within 2000-2003 model 4L80e. I running factory pcm with reprogramming to run the 4L80e. I can find locally 2004+ models but not within my PCM years. Not sure what to do. Cam this PCM be programmed for the later models?

Thats good to hear. I actually found a 2001 4l80e today that should be a perfect match for $400.00 that needs rebuilt. (no problem here yet) BUT I am needing a slip yoke not a bolted yoke. The trans I got is short splined and bolted. Anybody know the proper output shaft I need?

JREN
I know the earlier models were fielding thru the plug the the trans case causing issues. I would unplug the trany plug and check the connection pins.
