swap 2003 4L60e in 2002 Suburban dear gearheads ,
I have a 2003 4L60e trans that I want to put in my 2002 Suburban with 5,3 V8 . I know that there are some differences in the valvebody and solenoids . But all the electrical plug connectors on the trans case are the same for both years. Has someone tried that swap in a 2002 chevy truck ? If yes , what has to be changed - is it really necessary to change the ECM to a 2003 version to get this combo working ?

The 4L60E from LS engines (except Vette) between years '98 and '05 are completely interchangeable and electrically identical and identical valve body.
These are all 300mm input shaft versions that have the bolt hole in the 12 O'Clock position of the bell housing.
A '02 PCM will even work fine with later 4L60E/4L65E/4L70E up to '08 that have ISS (Input Speed Sensor).
