I was driving down the road when I heard a bang from underneath the middle of the car. I think the only gear left is third. No reverse. The engine now feels like something is dragging on the crank and I cant rev past 3000 rpm. The trans was a performance build and I have a SS3200 Yank convertor. I make about 550rwhp.

I know its not the rear end I took the cover off and everything looked good. There is clutch material in the trans pan. What do you think happened?

 

A broken sun shell will cause no 2nd, 4th, and reverse. I imagine the collar of the sun shell breaking off could make a loud sound.
