Default Turbo 350 to lq4.

I know this has been asked a million times but I'm still not getting it. I have a 99 lq4 that bolting a turbo 350 to. The flexplate I have is flat and looks like it normally took 6 converter bolts. My new converter is 3 bolt holes. I've seen that if you have the dished flexplate you need the spacer. So if I'm getting this right my flexplate should be fine without a spaced because it's flat. Right? for the converter holes do I just open up the holes a bit? Thanks guys!

Does that 99 have iron heads. If so I think, for my searching, you are stuck with the 4l80e

It originally had iron heads on it.

You may have an engine that had the longer section on the rear of the crank
instead of using a .400 spacer-if you rem the flywheel, see if the back of the crank is sticking aprx. 1/2 inch past the rear seal-if it is, your converter should bolt right up and seat in the crank
if it has the .400 spacer, you can sometimes tell because there will be 2 threaded holes on each side of the FW, they are used for rem the spacer from the crank
80E, 350, 400, 700r used pretty much the same snout/pad mtg distance, so the all can share the 80E flywheel setup
