1995 Trans AM Transmission issue
Hello guys,
since yestarday i have problem with my transmission
it wont change more dan 2nd , actully it does but car wouldnt run
in 3rd gear , just like when the clutch is dead in manual gearbox
it revs up but slowing down until it change to 2nd gear again.
i heard that there is separat clutch for 3rd and 4th gear , is it possible
that clutch is gone bad? and is it about to changing those paper gaskets
between the steel plates things?

It sounds as if the 3-4 clutch pack has gone out. This is a very common problem with the 4L60E trans.
I am not sure of what you mean by “and is it about to changing those paper gaskets between the steel plates things?” ???

Most likely the 3-4 clutches. I only have the information that you gave us to go off of, but my best guess is the 3-4 clutch pack. A 3-4 clutch pack usually consist of 6 to 9 clutch plates also called fictions sandwiched between steel plates. They will stack what a thick pressure plate, fiction, steel, fiction, steel, fiction, steel, fiction, steel, fiction, steel, fiction and then a thick top plate and snap ring.
