Default Pa 4l80e trans help

I bought a 4l80e off of a guy here. "supposed" to be a good trans. I felt comfortable with it. It was clean and still had gm stickers on it. Anyway...

story..

I installed the trans. ( later 80e) on to my 5.3. Used flat flex and the 6.0 spacer plate. I have it all buttoned up. started it up and let the engine warm up a few cycles to make sure i had oil pressure and bla on the engine.

I went to finally put it in gear the other day and had 0. nothing. So i thought center shift control. so i took off the nss. and shifted it on trans. Still nothing. I unhooked cooler line and got fluid, a big air bubble. and more fluid and then stopped.. In this time i had the gauge hooked up to the test port on side. 0 psi. But the rear wheels moved some. Then stopped.

Is there a next step to try? Or is there a guy local to central PA that is good with trans to maybe tear it down to visually inspect warn parts? and do a rebuild if necessary? Or enlighten me on other things to try? I'm stumped and out of my comfort zone with a trans.

its all in a 99 s10 5.3 with a 4l80e..

How much fluid did you put in-they take close to 12 qts, and really need to be full-also you need an accurate filler tube/stick

i started with 6 in pan. Started it and let it run and added more.. I was up to 12 when I gave up hope. I read something when i searched about it. Says put 5 in, start, ad 2 immediately which i didn't. But added as I went. Got up to 12.. I pulled the cooler lines off and got fluid, then air bubble then fluid then nothing. But wheels finally started to spin. So i thought hmm air bubble do this? Then i let it run little more and then had 0 again.

Today at lunch i took tc off again. I checked in between seal of pump and the gear. Didn't see anything there. I thought about taking seal out to see gears? or pull pump out and tare it down. But i put tc back in all the way. Measured bell to tc pads. I'm 1 1/16. which is 1.06, i read 1.03 should be. as fall as engine. i used flate flex plate, spacer. i got 15/16 from block to edge of flex teeth on the tranny side.

With the conv. seated all the way in the trans, how far from the conv. pads to the FW where the pads mount-some of those convs. don't have a real deep slot where they engage the pump gears, and if you pull it to far out you lose that engagement-I think ballpark you shouldn't have to go but 3/16 pullout to hit the FW, sometimes a little more-some guys have had to add spacers
