Default 4l80E Full manual VB Q

I will be getting the full reverse manual valve body with trans brake my question is will It still need the ECU to be hooked up for lockup or is there an easy way to get around that

Im trying to get rid of wires and make things simpler

I will definatly be going with Jakes Ive been meaning to give them a call and discuss my trans and setup.

My valve body isn't reverse pattern.

The FMVB transbrake is a 3 wire hookup.

12V Ign power, ground for the transbrake, and ground for TCC lockup.

No hookup to the ECU required BUT...
If you are using the stock LS1 ECU, why not tune it for the 4L80E and let the electronics run it.
You can still manually shift it, but you have the option to let the computer shift it.

I love my RMVB transbrake 4L80E in my turbo Buick. I'm sure that Jakeshoe has a good transbrake as well, but I just wanted to go with the reverse pattern, so I went with the TCI.

LOL finally a TCI transbrake guy speaks I like jakes setup and his reviews are very good so when it comes down to it I guess it will be a toss between TCI and Jakes but TCI might get it with the RMVB and it will be a track car so that is the way I want to go

what is involved with makeing a reverse shift pattern VB or is it just a completely different valve body all together Im all about small buisnesses over larger companys because I believe you get far better quality from someone that gives a *hit than ones that make a buck

The TCI reverse manual 4L80E VB is based on a stock VB.

It requires quite a few alterations to the stock circuits, and deletes some functions (engine braking, accumulators).

I'm a dealer for TCI products but I haven't tested their RMVB. Some other reliable sources (big name builders) I speak with have used it. They said it works with "OK" release time.

I just have never understood the reasoning behind why a reverse pattern is popular, that came about due to design criteria necessary to design certain transbrakes.

I realize there is no advantage to a RMVB aside for you are pulling to shift instead of pushing to shift hell ill go with yours and just mount my shifter backwards and start a new trend

It will be a few before I go that route and I have been looking to just get the whole trans done and setup by you and your 6 hours away from me here in NM

Actually I think the Ferd guys have been mounting their shifters backwards (or at least some of the old-school guys used to do this).
