LQ4 with BOP th400 questions????
2005 LQ4 mated to BOP th400. I'm looking to bolt a LQ4 to a Buick, Olds, Pontiac th400 transmission. I already have the adapter plate and GM spacer to bolt it together. What I'm wondering if this is everything I need or am I missing something else?? Ive read articles and have yet to find a straight answer on the exact parts I need to make it work properly. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Those adapters are Silly. A very good way to bust a trans case.
The Dowels will be too short, You will only have 2 bolts going through the Case into the Block.
Chevy TH400 cases are prolific, Swapping cases is easy & simple mods can be done to beef up the trans (Namely dual feeding the Direct Clutches).

With Craigslist, ebay, forums and other easy ways to buy and sell used parts, it seems silly to try to mate a BOP trans to a Chevy when you can easily sell that trans and buy a proper Chevy trans.
Assuming you are in the US, Canada and perhaps even Australia.

I had an old '63 Caddy that had some kind of funny
trans - either switch-pitch or something like it, that
gave it some decent low range and still low RPM cruise.
I think it differed from the TH400 fat cars I had at the
same time (455 Olds 98). I think given all the effort,
a 4L80E would be a much superior option (unless you
are trying to go carb and standalone ignition, in which
case you'd then also need a standalone controller). But
an HD pickup package, LQ4/9 plus 4L80E plus PCM,
would be about as straightforward as swaps can get.
