Default hidden trans brake button

hello all. i recently installed a yank3600 in my 02 ws6. and that along with my 100 shot wet plate, make this car a lot of fun to drive!! now, i know its just a matter of time before something lets go (trans, rear, bottom end) i have already started building a forged lq4 with just a stock 4l80e for now.

now that you have a little bit of the back story, i am a big fan of no1 knowing anything about what i am running, unless you search, you wont find anything to make you suspect this is anymore than stock bolt on car. (especially with my new nitrous set up)

on to the actual reason for this post... The more i read about a trans brake the more i want 1! but liike anything else, i dont want anyone to know. so i was wondering if any of you have had success hiding your button. right now my thoughts are (if possible) 1 of my radio control buttons on the wheel, or a little black button on the back side of the wheel. or..... any other great, outside the box ideas!

thanks in advance(sorry for being so long winded),
Bruce

You don't want it too hiden since you'll need to have your hands on the steering wheel when you let it go.

The wire will come through the floor board on a wire and you can keep it on a cord so after you race you can tuck the cord underneath the seat.

Other than that get creative, it's really up to you.

Button in the ashtray? Lol

I had my N20 wired to run off the horn button in a V8 vega I had back in the 90's. Used relays to make it work because the horn switch goes to ground. Had a toggle switch to switch between making the horn work or the spray.

Worked like a charm.

so in theory i could use the radio control buttons on the wheel? if so how would i wire it up? im starting to lean towards the button on the back side of the wheel... if for no other reasons then ease of installation, and hands never leave the wheel.

a transbrake will have the effect on the rearend same as an M6 does, kaboom. So if you're still running the little OEM 7.625" rearend,be warned.

You would have to put an ohm meter on the radio control buttons to verify that one of them will give you an on/off switch. If so I don’t see why you couldn’t use it for a transbrake button. You most likely will need to use a relay, because the radio control buttons, I wouldn’t think can handle that much amperage.

It should only draw less than an amp to engage the Transbrake
