Default shift kit, yea or na?

im about to order a 2800 or a 3000 stall. ive seen that not everybody does shift kits and was wondering whats best to do? now i know you guys are gonna say get a bigger stall but im looking for something like stock and im not looking for huge gains. 3-4 tenths is all im looking for. whats a good str also?
i dont wanna fry the rear, im running nittos in the rear.

shiftkit and BIG *** trans cooler

the higher stall will launch harder (more tenths gained in 1/4) for some sacrifice for looseness iirc.

witha 2800-3000 stall you wont fell any difference to keep you happy. at the very least a 3500!!!! the shift kit is cool, but not necessary, and a BIG *** COOLER

While a 3200 stall with 2.0-2.5 str was my best mod for the money, having a Trans Go kit, Kevlar band and billet servo installed while my trans was still good was awesome as well.
Without the kit my car slipped into gears making inconsistent track times. It's firm and consistent with the kit.
If you can afford it do both.
Big cooler is great insurance too.

How about with a TCI 3500. What is better a shift kit or boosting line pressure with a predator?

use a shift kit. Computer pressure increases without preparing the trans for it is not safe.

Shift kit. Transgo is the most popular for our cars.

This is interesting. I've always thought our cars didn't need shift kits if using LS1edit to increase the pressure. I have mine silghtly increased. Is there any improvement in the 1/4 to be had? I have a PT4400.

All the research I've done indicates increasing the line pressure through tuning was bad for our trannys that's why I went with the Trans Go shift kit.

How about a Vig3200? Or a TCI SSF3500!!! Trust me and everybody else, you better make DAMN SURE that you don't want another tenth or two out of it, becuase it's best to do it right the first time and not second guess or wonder what if or have to go back and do it again. FYI: The B&M 24k GVW cooler is very popular, i have it, and it works very well. WOT runs dont increase the trans temp much, if any, so far thinks to the added flow created by the speed you are running after/while getting on it.
















In case you don't know, the Vig3200's seem to actually flash to about 3500-3800
