Nylon Safe for Cooler Lines?
Gates, Parker, & Dayco all make specific trans cooler hose, I use Stepless Ear Clamps to clamp cooler hoses, Worm clamps tears up the hose casing. Fuel injection hose clamps work though.
made for transmission lines
any oreillys should carry a 25 foot roll and will sell it by the foot
rated to 400 psi
probably around the same price as that fuel line anyway

My concern is ATF not reacting well with the nylon, I could see that ending poorly.
I already have -8 fittings on my cooler from another drivetrain and -6 to -8 adapters for a compression fitting on 5/16" tube, but that's alot of fittings. 5/16" to -8 aren't made.
And I have a ton of Dorman stuff left from my fuel system.
I am really space limited in the Volvo 240 tunnel and general engine bay. So I'm stuck using stock hard lines until I'm past the crank.

So 1/2 of 250psi is 125psi in the cooling lines which is double that of FI pressure.
(Correct me if I am wrong and you have measured the pressure.)

You do know that 'line pressure', what the clutches and servos see off the pump, is NOT what the converter sees and DEFINITELY NOT what the cooler lines see, correct?
I contacted Dorman. The fittings are indeed rated for the pressure, temp, and ATF. They make a similar product for transmission quick disconnect fittings (like the stock fitting out of the housing) that use the same o-ring and locking mechanism, albeit with a brass rather than poly housing.
They do not however even have a temp rating for the fluid the nylon line can carry (just exterior temp), and have not tested it with ATF. Not so much a 'don't do this you will die', more of a 'this probably is not a long term solution'.
So, I'll have to bite the bullet and buy a 37deg flare tool or try some compression fittings.
