Default Need some help

I have a 1950 powerglide getting rebuld and the input shaft is stuck in the planetary assembly

Is this a core you're rebuilding or a fresh running unit?

It's the one that was in it ,it drove but didn't shift good so I took it to get rebuld the shop is having trouble getting the shaft out

That is odd. I would check the planetary and input shaft once you get them apart for a bur, rust, or possible a twisted splines. The input shaft should be able to float within the transmission and the converter.
