4L60E Woes.. Hello everybody, fairly new here and have ran into a big issue with a 4L60E my father and I rebuilt on our own. It was our first time tackling a project like this together so I'm hoping we didn't screw anything up.
So, this transmission is out of a 1996 4X4 Tahoe and when we pulled the transmission it had no second gear and 3-4 was slipping. We bought a rebuild kit and went to work on it. Eight hours later we had everything buttoned up and started some early celebration. We put the rear end up in the air and ran the car in reverse after we put about eight quarts of ATF in the transmission. After a minute or so we filled the transmission to the recommended fluid level and started to let the wheels spin in drive for five minutes or so. Everything was fine, we thought until we went for a drive. Whenever we took her for a spin we noticed that we were starting out in second gear and it would not shift out of second. It wouldn't even allow us to shift it manually into first, third or OD. So, small recap, we have second, reverse, neutral and park. The other gears aren't even trying to engage. What does this sound like? My father seems to think we might have put a servo in backwards and I'm completely lost.
