"Hard Hit" torque-converters will have the looser feeling characteristics... It is in the nature/ physics of how the converter works and makes it "Hard Hit".
The torque multiplication, STR/ Stall torque multiplication ratio... must have been gone over with you, if you spoke to a sales person at FTI.

The softer-hit version of your torque-converter would not feel so loose in comparison... but stall speed is also a factor.
