Default SSRA mod idea for trans cooler

I already have the SSRA and was planning to add a TC and trans cooler. I have purchased a B&M 70264 with intentions of mounting it on my condenser. I'd like to mount the cooler on the condenser to take advantage of the fan. As most of you probably know, the radiator fins are mounted offset to the centerline of the car and there is more room on the driver side when the SSRA is installed. Here is a photo of the cuts i was thinking about making to allow the 70264 cooler to be mounted vertically on the drivers side of the condenser. Someone has already expressed concern about this cooler being big enough. But research on this site shows the 70264 to be a popular one.

This car isn't a weekend drag car, but not a DD either. I enjoy going to the strip to make a few passes every now and then, but I don't have any intentions of hot lapping.

Here is a photo of the cuts I was thinking about making. If I do this mod, I may add material to seal off the cutout.

Check out "dope style" mounting, maybe you don't have to cut
the duct. Depends on how much of the underside opening is
left clear by the "sucker". I was not happy with trans cooler
on the condenser. You ought to consider swapping up to a
LT1 radiator (or, LT1 core w/ LS1 end tanks, these are a real
thing I gather) since you'll be adding some airflow obstruction
in any case, and be sure to blow out the condenser with air
or garden hose if you've been letting road debris accumulate
in the fins.

Thanks for the response Jimmy. With 200 view and no responses, I had decided that folks were being nice and thought it was a dumb idea. LOL. I have since thought of a better way to cut the the area of the SSRA to allow for the 70264. I don't like restricting the airflow and I don't want to go the extreme route of sux2bu and cutting metal.

I'll look at dope style again and see what size coolers that folks are using. Might be my best bet.

I would do it dope style or others have looked for better ways. I know when I add a bigger cooler it will somehow get mounted to a MWC Aftermarket Front Bumper Support.

I wouldn't cut up that SSRA, Id make my own cut to the way you need modeled after the SSRA and keep the money left over after supplies and selling the SSRA

I appreciate the responses guys. That link provided me with a good bit of info along with confirming that the 70264 should work very well for me. I had bought the 70264 based on info I found on this site, but then someone in another thread mentioned that he would recommend a larger one.

I plan to resist the urge to modify my SSRA and do dope style or mount it like some of the other options show in that thread and threads related to the subject.
