i see everyone says you have to bang in the trans tunnel to even get the 80e to mount up the motor. Well i just got done with the swap and i didnt have to touch the trans tunnel.. i used a 97 4l80e out of an express van and it went into a 2000 fbody,, has this been done before or is it a fluke thing???

Eh.. That looks like it's had as much clearance done to the tunnel as most of the other installs I've seen. I thought you said you didn't do anything?

Edit: so most of the ones I've seen didn't touch the "tunnel", just the brace like your pictures show

Sorry should of been more specific... I didn't have to touch where the bell housing is. That kinda what I'm worried about because I'm getting a clunk when I hit the brakes and was curious if the bell housing is hitting the tunnel. It didn't do it at first but after 200 miles it stated doing it randomly

Did you have the ears cut off of it? If not that's probably what's hitting
