Default Need Help! Won't Idle...Transmission Related???

I'm making this post here because I believe this may be transmission related. You can see my list of mods below. I had my transmission built and they ordered the torque coverter at the same time. The torque converter was built by Art Carr. They wanted to know the engine specs so they could build the coverter properly. It was suggested that I stay around 3000 stall since this was a nitrous motor. I told them around 500 -550 flywheel HP plus a 200 shot. They converter is way too tight. Feels tighter than the factory. They say it is because they built it with nitrous in mind. But still, it still is way too tight for a 3000 stall. At 950 -1000 RPM the car will kick hard and die when it is put in gear sometimes. They surges at idle, but only after it warms up. When it is cold it idles fine and goes into gear fine. I took it to LG to get it tuned and they made the comment that the coverter is very tight. They could not tune this idle surge out. Could it be the coverter? Why does it do it only when it is hot and not cold? Here is another thing that leads me to believe it is the coverter. Before I got it tuned I went by Lanes in Dallas for some exhaust work (leaks at the header collector) We had the car on a lift. While on the ground with the car in neutral and the brake on the car surged real bad. Got the back tires up in the air. Started the car in neutral (no parking break) so he could check for leaks. The car idled great. I thought it was because the leaks were fixed. No...the back tires were turning (which is normal to some point while in neutral). But, they were turning pretty fast. The care idled great at about 1000 RPM...with no load from the transmission on it.

All input is welcome. I'm very frustrated at this point. I have been working on this project for a year. I just want to drive the car.

Just an update. I let the car cool for a couple hours. Started it and it idled fine. Put it in gear, it jumps hard, and it lugs it down, and then it re-adjust the idle. Switch from drive to nuetral and the RPM's jump up to nearly 2000 then it idles down. It's like it has to give it extra gas to idle in gear, but then I take it out and get some of the load off it is not as bad. I'm lost here. I have to really hold it back with the brake while in gear to keep it from taking off. Just does not seem right with a 3000 stall. I can't help to think that this is all converter related.

I had almost the same problems after my new set up, and going back to the stock transmission set up, cleared my issues. I also had my cold start reprogrammed too.

From the sounds of it the convertor is too tight for a 3000 even though it is prep. for nitrous, the transmission may also be too tight, how many miles have you put on it?

Tranny has about 40 miles on it. I called the tranny guy today. He said no problem with sending the coverter back. I also called Art Carr and they said send it back and they will test it and theywill get one that is more appropriate for the job. I was told that the tranny will be a little tight for a while.

I also found the tha the IAT was missing the O-ring
