Default 4l80e fitting problem

I have a 97 hydromatic 4l80e. Has front and rear for cooling lines. The problem I'm having is the rear fitting (long one) won't screw in because it's hitting something in the Trans. Need help. Thanks

you likely have the wrong thread. 97 they changed from -6 x 9/16-18 to -6 x 1/4NPS midyear.... I did the same thing lol.

Wrong Center Support at the very least, This is Bad.....Real Bad!! The trans will need to be torn down to see what all is wrong for your "Center Lube" Case by someone that knows what the hell their doing!!! It may end up cheaper to buy another core to build.

Good luck, A warranty with the same builder that would do that in the first place is scary!

Good thing you caught this even now. I recall a thread where the OP installed two short fittings and then burned up the trans.

I cant remember when I had mine apart, is it possible for the center support to turn if the bolt is broken, or left out?
