Thanks for that, I emailed myself both of those links in case I need to reference them.

Performabuilt sent pretty thorough instructions with the tranny. I was checking them out the other day and they seem to walk you through it step by step. In addition I would imagine Circle D sent something as well though I don't remember. Either way I will be sure to check the tolerances now even if it isn't referenced anywhere on what I bought. Circle D includes shims so that's nice. I've never done an auto trans before so I wasn't aware of the possible need to shim and certainly don't want to discover I need something I don't have halfway through the job.

You think I'm good with approx 22" tall jackstands to get the tranny in and out? It's a fullsize pickup and I don't have access to a lift anymore.

The threads should be clean, but I can promise you it works. I've never had a bolt move that has blue loctite on it. I get the roll up applicator, works real nice.
