Default shifter cable question

What's the best way to change the shifter cable and fish it back through? I've done my research and no hints found. Is it better from the bottom or through the top? Just finished my Lq9 swap and the grommet broke on me. I need to replace this asap.

I just did this. Go through the top it was very easy. I wouldn't even bother trying through the bottom

Did you remove that big bracket? Sorry I don't know the name of it.
