I hope I can give enough info for the answer I am looking for. I am currently performing an LS swap on my 1992 Chevy truck. 4x4 with a stock 4l80e. I am installing a 5.3 to my 1992 4l80e. I have the main harness and computer from a 6.0/4l80e truck. I am going to swap the 6.0 tune to my 5.3HO tune.
I may be wrong but, the internal trans harness' are different from 1991-92 and the from 1993-03 (guessing),,and then changed again for the LS series....
When I do a rebuild of my trans...can I install an internal harness from a newer LS model 4l80e into my 1992 trans so the connector to the LS main harness will match? Or,,,,is there some crazy thing Chevy changed to the solenoids or the connector port that would keep me from doing this? I am trying to make this plug and play without splicing or using aftermarket plug adapters. Any info or help is greatly appreciated..

 

You can just swap in the later harness should be no issue The only change in the later harness was the lockup solenoid after 2003

Correct, just use an 03 down-in 04 they changed the plug on the force motor
