I see GM recently released a 4L75-E trans in 2wd form, Part #24283281. I am wondering if it is built any better than the 4L60/65/70E or does it still have the same weaknesses. GM states it is good to 650 lb-ft of torque.
It looks like it uses the Sonnax Billet Servo/Cover.

We discussed this recently:

Just a 4L65e/4L70E with a few upgraded parts, similar to what our sponsors would consider "mid range".

Thanks man, I must of missed that during my searches. I read on another forum that they partnered with Sonnax and used their HD Billet output shaft, Smart-Tech input housing and HD billet input shaft, Smartshell, and a few other things. Now I do not know if there is any truth behind that but it would be awesome.

I never intended to purchase one. Just wondering what was done to it to achieve 650lb-ft of torque capabilities. They can be had for around $2800-$2900 as well now. If it truly has the Sonnax Smart-Tech Input Housing with 300mm billet input shaft, 300mm billet output shaft, SmartShell Sunshell, Billet 2nd and 4th Servos, and Alto Extra Wide Band, that alone is worth $1400, at least if you bought each piece. But I agree, you can have a reputable builder build one for around $4k.
