Do Not install the pressure relief plate or drill through the partition in the valve body.

I would hope so. They were behind 8.1 big blocks with a 100 more ft #'s of torque then a ls1 but beating on it in od will beat it up.

It opens up if line pressure runs away (I've only seen this happen on early model units).

It can stick open & cause low line pressure.

a 4l80e with a transgo kit will handle 750hp tq, so yes you will be good to go. i recommend tearing down the entire transmission and replacing the bushings since they are the most common point of failure. also go ahead and do the seals and clutches, and you got a solid unit for 750hp. and if you want to handle 1000hp get a 4340 input shaft and a billet forward hub. I recommend rollerizing the case as well.

how much power will the 4l80e handle with 4K stall and a big transmission cooler no shift kit ? The 4l80e is freshly rebuilt

a stock one is rated around 450tq, they have been known to hold more, but if you are going to rebuild it you might as well do the modifications while your in there for it to handle more. the stall will shorten the life of the stock clutchpacks for sure, if your not going to upgrade it just throw it in as is and rebuild it when it finally goes out. but for what its worth your leaving some E.T. on the table if you dont build it for performance.

with any 4l80e that you dont know the history of I would tear it down inspect it and rebuild it, that way you know what you have in it. are they a little expensive to build yes. but the power lvl they hold vs price is pretty good. i did all the work myself and have about 2500 into a 4l80e with a jakes stage 3 kit and d3 trans brake, but i know everything is new and all solinoids and seals are new and that it will shift super fast and hard like I want it to. and with selling my t56 and clutch i about broke even on the trans. do it right the first time while its all out.

I had my 80E (with a 5C converter) done by my trans guy. The same guy that rebuilt my t350 that was in my nova for 16 years.
I would think an 80E, providing I don't beat it in OD, it should handle my 406 as good as the 350 with the 8" treemaster it replaced.
After all, isn't a 80 a"400" with od which is stronger then the 350 to begin with?
All the 350 had was a shift kit and the treemaster. Well, it had a TCI streetfighter 1st then the treemaster.
