I had a shop do a 4L85E swap in my 02 Camaro. Everything works fine, except the speedo is not working. They couldent figure it out. How do i make it work? I had the cluster sent out years ago to have the spedo changed from a 150mph to a 200mph. Maybe that's why its not working? IDK what to do next. Have you gone through this?

So shifting through all 4 gears automatically is working fine? The speed signal goes to the PCM first which would be making the gear changes, if it didn't know the speed the car wouldn't shift properly. Anyways the PCM converts the sinewave signal from the VSS to the 4000ppm square signal which then gets distributed to the cruise control and gauge cluster. I'm thinking very likely something is wrong with your cluster? but also strange it was effected by the trans swap. Maybe also see if you can get a speed reading off the OBDII port, that will tell you if the PCM is receiving the correct signal or not.

I took the cluster out and put it back in. it works now! took the car out for a spin an it works. then, I got a knock sensor code... aaahhh...lol
