4L60E Fluid flush question
If you had a trans acting badly that had already had pan drops and filter changes and solenoids replaced with no change a flush would be worth trying as a last resort if your ready to rebuild anyway.
Regardless of miles you have 17 years of sediment hanging out in low pressure areas in your trans that is going to be forced through your internal workings=recipe for disaster.

Anyway go ahead a drop the pan, change the filter and refill it. That is the correct way. The stealership probably wants 150 bucks to do that. However, if you must flush it or feel that it is indeed necessary do not pay to have it done. Do the 2 bucket method.
Disconnect cooler lines from radiator
New 5 gallon bucket of fluid from parts store goes into return line of trans
Empty 5 gallon bucked goes under the cooler feed line.
Turn the car on and watch it flush itself
Ive done this a few times on various cars with good results. But a regular fluid and filter change is more than fine.
