Default Swapping from an suto to a 6speed? anyone intrested?

Im thinking about swapping my auto to a six speed. What all is involved in this and where can I look for someone to swap? How much should i be looking to spend if someone would be willing to swap? I have a built 4l60e and I dont think ill be going to the track as much as I used to. So I think I want the 6 speed for daily driving. Thanks in advance for any info!

Is that you in your picture ? Swapping over to a 6speed is more time consumming then doing it vis versa. As for daily driving if you go back to the stock converter you certainly cant beat auto. Anyway yah look at it swap or not its gonna be costly. Good luck

yes it is. i know it will cost me but im not to worried about that. i have more reasons as to why i want to swap it other then being bored. i know i cant beat an auto at the track but for how far i drive my car everyday the auto sucks. esp with the converter. 3rd and 4th wear out to fast

Ok, you guys - I did the search work for you. This is for an LT1, but of course the mechanical work is the same. It'll give you an idea of what's involved.

You're an ambitious girl - as your pic amply demonstrates! It doesn't sound like a job for the faint of heart.

Default manual for sure

Yeah autos suck on the street... At the track they own! Im tired of my stalled auto especially after driving all my buddies six speeds. Does anyone know anything about maybe even swaping in the six speed auto into a camaro?

Ok i have done an auto to manual swap. It was not difficult at all. All your gonna need is the tranny, a crossmember, pedals and hydraulics, a clutch, possibly different gears depending on what you have, a shifter, a new console piece, and a tune. GM HighTech did a really good write up on how to do it step by step, which is what I used during my swap. Also if you go to the manual transmission section they have a sticky on the subject with a complete walk through on it. You gonna hafta cut a couple of holes in ur car but thats not bad. The worst part of the whole ordeal is mounting and installing the pedals and master cylinder, mainly due to the cramped working conditions. Other than that its mainly just swapping parts and modifying your wiring harness and your golden.

You also need the pigtail connector for the reverse lights unless you want to ghetto wire it.
