Wont shift into 2nd Car is a 2000 Firebird
Yesterday the car wold not shift into 2ND it runs up tell 4000rims about 40mph and then shifts. The car is not showing a check engine light or showing any codes. I tried to Manuel shift the car and it won't shift into 2nd. Anybody have and clue. Should I just get it rebuild or buy a new one

You may have lost your band (Band not holding), If that is the case......You will only have 1st & 3rd gear. Having to skip 2nd will make you accelerate for a good while in 1st before it shifts to 3rd.
