Default Transmission question

I just picked up my LQ4 for my Chevy II swap. I'm planing on putting a 4L60 behind it. The yard that I got the engine from offered to sell me a mid 90's 4L60 for $350 and a later model one for a couple hundred more. What's the difference, and what year range should I be looking at?

I read through that post. Some really good info. I'm a little confused regarding the adapter and set of bolts mentioned in it. My LQ4 is out of a 2001 Denali. What year range of transmissions should I be looking for to swap with minimal mods/adapters?

Your questions are about automatic transmissions. A thread does best in its topical forum.
