Possible Damage from Converter Pilot (too short)
4L80e Stage 3 with Rossler D3 Brake
CAT SFI Flexplate
After taking my converter into my local shop who built it, he asked if I was running the pilot extender since I'm running a 4L60e flexplate. I said no.... I didn't know it was needed
So, my question is... What are the possible damages from the converter not being seated into the crank? I've tried reading up on this but can only find info on it being needed but not what the possible side effects would be so to speak.

The pilot has to fit into crank or adapter. It's up to the installer to check this.
Fix the oiling problem.
