LT1 4L60e to 4.8 engine
Ok, So
I have a 4.8 and my buddy has a 4l60e swap complete from a 1995 LT1 car he is offering me.
I owe like 6 grand into a 99 ta that has no drivetrain. Its a long story but he is trying to help me get it on the road. What is needed to make this work? I just want the car to run and have as a backup till I finish getting a th400 build figured out.
Im still on the fence of keeping the car or just cutting my loses. so ya honestly whats required to make it work?
my 99 trans am is a 6 speed car but lets be real used they are like 1500 bucks and the 4l60e is free along with whatever I need.

I don't know all the GM engine sizes, but since there is a 4.8l LS1, I will assume that is what you have. Well, a 1995 4L60E will not electrically work with an LS1 PCM. The '95 was an odd-ball unique year that only works with a '95 LT1 PCM.
In another post today, the OP said his '95 trans was shot, maybe he will want to buy yours.
To properly work and bolt up to an LS1 engine with an LS1 PCM, you will want a '98-'08 4L60E/4L65E/4L70E with a 300mm input shaft indicated by a bolt hole in the 12 O'Clock position on the bell housing.
