So you can't change the stator support
I never thought this was a good idea.
The 4L60E I'm starting to rebuild had some bad metal contamination from a failed converter, so it was no surprise that the pump was worn.
Instead of pulling a pump out of another trans I have I grabbed this v6 pump I've had forever and tried swapping the stator shaft out.
I pressed them out, then heated the pump in an oven and cooled the shaft with co2. Dropped the shaft in the good pump no problem, but the bolt holes don't line up. Guess thats not going to work.
I searched before I posted this and found people on ebay selling "refurbished" shafts, I guess those would give the same problems. I saw the Sonnax shaft and it has slotted holes. Looks like I'll be using another pump assembly.

I use the Sonnax replacements....Never an issue. Used stators usually have some spline wear anyway so I never bothered with trying to swap them.....Besides I can "face" a pump cover if needed.
