Change the filter, Use ONLY OEM Filtran filters. They are available though GM dealers & Isuzu Commercial truck dealers.
"IF" the filter is the issue, One of three things is going on.......
-The filter is clogged with debris....In this case the pan will be full of debris & you need to contact your builder.
-The filter is a aftermarket POS.
-The builder used WAY to much assembly lube or an assembly lube not made for transmission assembly.

the transmission was just rebuilt ,has no warranty,i drove it for two weeks and it shifted fine.one my way home the other day it shifted to second gear so I let of the gas..try to push the gas gas again and had no gears ..I pulled over and shut the truck off and back on and the gears came back..the next day I pulled the pan and there was nothing in the pan and filter was clean its a 97 chevy 3500 ...no dash lights on

The last 4L80E I built for a guy at work still had the same problems.
He found out a previous owner hacked up the wiring harness for the entire truck, he replaced it all and had no further problems.
I was 100% sure there was nothing wrong with my build.
