Default Transmission problem (4l60e)

Hey guys. New to the forum. I have a 4l60e that is having some issues. I grenaded my stock 10 bolt a few weeks ago and just got done putting a 14 bolt in its place. I got it all back together and now it will barely move in drive (limp mode?) However, I am able to lot drive it by starting out in 1st and shifting it manually. Does this sound like a accumulator issue or forward clutch or something totaly different? Anything helps. Thanks

Your roller clutch is busted....guaranteed. Most anytime you have a failure behind the output shaft, your transmission will usually be hurt as a result.

It sounds like your forward sprag has rolled over or it could be the low roller clutch, it will depend on what gear the trans was in when the diff broke. This happens a lot of times when the drive line is suddenly shocked when the sprag in under a load. There was a thread just last week where a guy’s truck diff locked up and took out the low roller clutch in his trans. Your trans will need to be disassembled so all of the broken meatal can be cleaned out and the sprag replaced. At this point you may as well get a complete rebuild.

Thank you for the information. I'll pull the trans out this weekend and give it a rebuild. Also it was in first gear. Put a blower on it and the stock 10 bold didn't like it. First day out of the garage. Again thank you all.
