Old 4l80e with new model convertor.
was hoping I could get some good advice for my silverado.
I have a 6.0 ls in my 2wd silverado. I had a 4l80e from year 2007 with 12 o clock bolt hole. All was good till the driveshaft broke and cracked the case.
I have found a level 3 trans local and may buy it .
however it is an older model without the 12 o clock bolt hole. I know the bell housing will bolt up, however what about the torque convertor? I plan to use my new style 3 bolt torque convertor as its still good. The flex plate that is in it may be from a 4l60e from what iv read?? Its slightly concaved. Not exactly flat. It also has a spacer on the flywheel about .250 thick or so. I didn't mic it.
Question is: can I throw my 3 bolt convertor in the old style 4l80e and bolt it all right up. Basically like it was before? Also something I noticed. Previous owner had a washer in between the convertor and flex plate.
Any advuxe would be good.
