Built 6L80E Slipping and Throwing Codes
I had a 6L80 built for my G8. While doing some test hits on the street, I had a cooling line come off causing quite the smoke show. I got the car stopped eventually when I noticed and had no gears left to move. Got the car towed, replaced fluid and it seemed fine for a while.
With about 200 more miles on the clock, the trans started slipping like it was in neutral and eventually threw a solenoid code. Ended up replacing the valvebody and TCM, thinking that was the issue. Another 100 or so miles after the repair, the code has shown up again.
What did I break? Maybe the clutches got worn out when the thing was spinning with no fluid, but it seems strange that it was fine for at least a couple hours of driving each time before the symptoms showed up again.

Which solenoid? There’s always a distinct possibility that there’s been a legit failure, especially after a rebuild. A good scan tool should let you test the activity of each solenoid. If you don’t have any way to monitor command vs reaction data you are going to have a difficult time isolating the issue.
Were solenoids replaced at the same time as the valve body?
What's the specific code it's throwing?
Were the 200 miles then the 100 miles before it acted up each time...were they put on all in one trip or in multiple trips?
