Default TC Lockup

Guys, is it bad to have your torque converter lockup feel like a shift? I've got a brand new billet FTI 3200 single disk that I currently have tuned to lock up fast and strong.....and it does. Originally, I thought it was the 2-3 shift until I looked in my HP tuners and saw it was really the TC locking up. I'm just not sure if TC clutches are like trans clutches where a fast engagement is preferred. Can you guys weigh in on this? Thanks

Some manufacturers may remove the spring which makes for a strong lockup feel

You don't want a big rpm drop. Usually need to tune it to apply at a higher mph where the rpm won't drop so much at apply. Doing this will reduce the harshness of the apply.
Multi disc converters are more suited to apply like a shift. Single disc converters won't hold up as well over time.
there are posts on here where a few manufacturers say the same. Circle D I know has said it before.
