Default 4l80e rebuild

Just fried another4l60e and I'm done with them. My neighbor has a 4l80e for sale for $200.....200,000 miles on it out of a 2500 van. After all of the money i spent on cam heads etc my car didnt even make 400rwhp....should i get the 4l80e rebuilt is my question

4L60E's can actually be built to handle a LOT of power. Looks like yours was not. A 4L80E with 200,000 miles should be rebuilt.

I keep hearing that but the only shop within 100 miles quoted me $3500 to rebuild and swop out....I just spent over $6000 to make less than 400 hp so I'm not paying that

You go to a nationally known tranny builder like Performabuilt that warrants ALL their trannies, even if raced. Local yokels don't know squat about REALLY building trannies, as you have found out.

I'd swap the 4l80e as is. Worst that happens is you blow it up in X number of miles and have to find another used transmission.

I feel your pain in the cost of modding.
