Default Transmission uncooperative

I have a 98 Z28, H/C/I car with a built 4L65E. Last year I was enjoying playing with a hellcat... after I turned around to head back home I started to accelerate and boom!!! The ten bolt came apart... it took a long time to save the money but I had a Ford 8.8 custom built.... finally got it finished and installed, i cannot wait to roll out with all if my new mods... today I double checked all of my work got the car on the ground and rolled it out in the driveway.... after checking all of the fluids and everything i put in the battery and she fired right up. Let it run in park and checked everything i could. No leaks all appeared great. Pulled it out of park into reverse.... nothing, put it in drive, nothing.... its like every selection is neutral... im stumped.... the trans was fine when i parked it... now its like its completely missing.... i sure hope someone has an idea....

The transmission was done when the 10 bolt let loose. Automatics don't like shock, as when something after the output shaft gives up.

Maybe one of the 60e experts will get in on this, but i know with a Th400... it wrecks the roller clutch when something fails behind the transmission. Not sure if the 60e operates in the same fashion, but I'm guessing it operates on the same principle.

yep its confusing.... the rear went out and still limped home. Very slowly but still limped home... when I got home, i could put it in any gear and the trans would engage and turn the drive shaft. When I removed the drive shaft to change the rear end... the output shaft was fine. And i didnt have to change anything for length.

I have done EVERYTHING. Pump is working because fluid level drops, linkage is all attatched.... there is absolutly nothing. No sounds, engine doesnt draw down under load.... nothing... it litterally like going from park to neutral... i would think if there was internal damage it would do something, grind, clunk, pop anything.... but its like im miving the shifter and there is no change AT ALL... i cant help but think there is something silly im missing.... fuse? Electrical? I have no idea... its a built stage 4 4L65E and rear popped excellerating slowly from a stop in a left turn. Id think that trans could handle that stress.... i mean its not like i was stalled up at 3k and dropped a trans break.... there has to be something im missing... maybe not but when i cratered my 04 GTO trans after H/C/I, it was obvious.... trans is trashed... made noises, smoked everything. But this car has simply sat for 10 months and now nothing

When you pull your transmission, see if your roller clutch looks like this.

Thats actually very common for the rollers to fall out like that on a 400 or 4L80E. You just take it out carefully as an assembly or put the rollers back in when they fall out like that.
I used to use original only early 60's 36 element sprags there with the matching center support and gear set when they could be found. Now the easy (only) option is aftermarket.
Nothing in that picture looks broken.

The clutch was trash. ALL of the rollers fell out as I removed it.... that shouldn't happen. All of the springs were flattened, could i have rigged it..... maybe. But for the $15 for a new one, that's what i elected to do.

That wasn't a major blow up, if it was you would have needed a center support and the gear set because the ramps would be all tore up. But thats besides the point. A 4L60E doesn't have exactly that in it.

Then quit asking questions, and fix your transmission. Since you're "no beginner" and "no dummy", the time that you spent making this thread.... could have and should have been spent fixing the problem.

Sounds like the OP is an expert and doesn't need any help from LS1Tech. No problem, we can simply lock the thread before anyone else wastes another second of their time trying to teach someone who clearly has nothing left to learn.
