Default th400 2.56 converter question

Would anyone have some advice on what could be accomplished in terms of a torque converter choice on a GM A-body with a lq4/th400/2.56 gear.

The vehicle would just be a street car. Would a higher stall converter work on this combination? I like the idea of a little looser converter and softer gear engagement but worried about highway driving. I have read about larger converter stalls being used on other vehicles but they would have much more power and lower gearing than what I would have.

Not sure if I am on the right path but perhaps the advice here would lead me there.

I use a PTC 9.5 converter that has a true stall speed of 5200, in combination with similar gearing as you 2:73. This is in a 3700 pound f body that gets driven everywhere, and I absolutely love it. Not sure if this answers your question, but this has been my experience.
