Default Jakes d1 trans brake issue

Hey guys I’m spinning my wheels here trying to figure this out. I have Jakes d1 brake in my trans along with his black manual box. According to the instructions I need to ground the yellow wire to activate the brake. But at the moment the second I turn the car on the yellow wire has 12v coming out of it. Obviously I can’t ground a 12v wire so I’m lost. The only other wire hooked up is the pink 12v switched. Has anyone else had this issue? I’ve heard the wire is supposed to have 12v I’ve heard it’s not supposed to so I’m a little confused.

That is correct. Add ground to yellow wire. The power travels through the shift solenoid because it’s a coil. That’s why you see +12v.
