Default Newer 4l80e internals into a older 4l80e

I have this 4l80e from a 01 Silverado its fully built and the case broke I wanted to put its internals into a older 4l80e from a 93 I know the oil fittings are in different places so will I not be able to do this??

There are a lot of differences , you are better of rebuilding the older core , they are equally as good or find a newer style case .

Exactly how "built" is the newer model trans?

I'm guessing the parts that are upgraded can easily be swapped.

Share with us a build list and we can check off the swappable and non-swappable parts

The early models have a larger overdrive roller clutch and are a little stronger anyways.

But even with the later model roller clutch...you need to be making some serious jam or abusing the hell out of the forward engagement before it will matter a whole lot

Not sure built by someone local I can upload a pic of the parts list it cost a lot of $ and the core I have is just the case

My price on a '01 4L80E core is $40, I have three also. You should swap the case on the built trans, sell or use the older one on something else.

Also depends on what you're putting it in. If you have a range switch the '93 won't work.
