Alright guys, im debating on what to do about my transmission.

Car is a 2000 trans am 370 twin turbo, 800-1000rwhp
Was looking at getting a 4l80e fully built without a transbrake because it would save me some $$$. They have a pretty big price tag. I like that I can put it in drive and go.
But then I was told about the th400 because this is just a weekend warrior and doesn't see much highway drive time. I was told I could go with some gears that would make it more streetable. Right now I have 3.73s.

The car has a built 4l60e and I actually prefer automatics, but the th400 are cheaper, and with the money id save going with it I could get a trans brake and still have money left over vs the 4l80e. I was looking at Jake's transmissions and seen he actually offers a auto valve body with trans brake. I tried to call but haven't gotten a call or email back yet. Does this mean it doesn't have to be shifted? That I can choose to shift or for it to do it on its own?

That is correct. It retains all automatic features like a stock TH400.
