Default Flex plate for th350 behind ls1?

What flexplate do I need? I know I need the spacer for the snout of the converter right? I'm using this converter:

Just use your ls1 flexplate, and the small round spacer for the converter snout that Hughes sells, hit that into the back of your crankshaft.

I have that exact same converter and it's a beast , lots of top end, and hits very hard, but I think it has too much STR for our LS cars ( which don't need so much str as some old school carb engines), because it hits the tires in 1st like a sledge hammer. I have some 28x14.5 hoosier QTP's coming so i'll see how it hooks with them.

With 400+rwhp and traction i'd get an sfi flexplate. I have the B&M , it fitted well but I think I had to elongate the converter holes for converter. (It's been a while now I can't remember for sure, I might be thinking of another car I did)

Yes. Well I know the TH400 does. But you'll find you will need to use 1/8" washers between the converter and flexplate (as i did on both my t400 ls swaps).. as it centers the converter better. It puts the converter a bit further into the transmission pump, and makes sure the converter hub on the crankshaft side can't bottom out in the crankshaft.

I think some of the people with t350/400/glide swaps that ruined their thrust bearings in their engine, their converter possibly has not enough clearance before it bottoms out in the crankshaft. The converter snout on the crankshaft side is only there to center the converter properly. The converter should never bottom out on the crankshaft. Using 1/8" washers between the converter and flexplate is perfect for a TH400 swap using a standard Th400 style converter, with the Hughes style ls1/th400 spacer (that is needed to extend the crankshaft pilot hole)

Unless a TH350 is set up different to TH400.. I was assuming both have the same converter and it all just bolts up the same on the engine/converter side of things.

As long as it is a non-lockup TH350, then yes converter and flexplate are same.

Have you run this converter yet? Be interesting to see what you think of it. I'm removing mine and swapping it out with an 8" converter once it arrives after new years.

Jegs has an sfi approved TH350 to standard LS 6 bolt for a relatively inexpensive amount, comes with converter nose adaptor and bolts. Flex plate is installed between nose adaptor and crankshaft and flexplate is not flat but cone shaped for perfect spacing, I’m using one ona build right now and so far ....no surprises.
